James Lawson Neihouse (born April 3, 1955) is an American cinematographer who has been involved with many of the most memorable and successful IMAX 2D〔http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/records/IMAX.php〕 and IMAX 3D films to date. ==Early life== Neihouse was born in Paris, Arkansas. He graduated from Paris High School in 1973 and received his bachelor's degree from Brooks Institute〔Brooks Institute#Notable alumni.2C faculty.2C and students〕 in Santa Barbara, California in 1976. He was the director of photography on the first IMAX film to be nominated for an Academy Award - ''The Eruption of Mount St. Helens!''〔http://giantscreencinema.org/Films/FilmDatabase/FilmDatabaseDetailView/tabid/288/Default.aspx?movieid=83〕 which was nominated for Best Documentary Short in 1980.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=NY Times: The Eruption of Mount St. Helens! )〕 Neihouse has trained more than 125 NASA astronauts and 15 Russian cosmonauts on 20 space shuttle flights and 6 Space Station Expeditions to film in space aboard the Space Shuttle and the International Space Station.
